How Intraclubs work

An Intraclub is a an excellent social event where the tennis is enjoyed with a half-time

break for a glass of Pimms or similar and followed usually by a clubhouse supper with a

glass of wine and some good conversation.

The events are hosted by members of the club who take responsibility for organising the

pairings and the matches, liaising with the caterer unless they choose to cater themselves

and collecting £10 per head from each participant.

The hosts put up a list in the clubhouse two weeks before the event and members sign up

to play. 24 players - 12 men and 12 ladies are the usual numbers tho' it is possible to have

28 or even 32 if there is enough support. The event starts with men's doubles and ladies' doubles

comprising two short sets followed after half-time by mixed doubles, so, four short sets in all.

All senior members are welcome to join in and you don't have to be a star player to take part

and enjoy the event.
